Moyo Africa organized adventure holidays will stretch your mind and body while having a great time. Our guided adventure tours will take you beyond the familiar, to the absolute new experience. We carefully select and recommend activities for everyone – biking, deep sea fishing, scuba diving in Zanzibar, climbing Kilimanjaro, canoe fishing, hunting with the Hadzabe, and hot air ballooning over the Serengeti – all truly African adventure.

Our mix of small groups, wild activities, and fun itineraries will leave you wanting to come back for more. Below is one of our popular adventure travel itineraries. (NOTE: we can tailor a whole different itinerary to fit your desires and budget).

DAY 1 – Arrival: Morning flight from Arusha Airport to Seronera/Ikoma airstrip (depending on the availability), welcome drink (tea, coffee or soft drinks) upon arrival at Serengeti Sopa Lodge or the Seronera Lodge. You will take a game drive around the Seronera area, hot lunch and short rest at a camp. Dinner and overnight stay at Serengeti Wildcamp or Ikoma Wildcamp & Cottages.

DAY 2 – Hot Air Balloon Safari Over Serengeti: Enjoy the Serengeti from above – your safari starts at dawn from the south west of the Serengeti National Park, through the Serengeti plain – float above large herds of migrating Wildebeests, Zebras and residing Gazelles and Antelopes. A great opportunity for aerial photos while enjoying panoramic view of the mighty Serengeti Plain, fly over the Sopa and Seronera valleys towards Makoma at low level heights viewing such animals as Cheetahs, Lions, Elands, Hyenas and Hippos. Wrap your adventure with a full English breakfast in the bush, thereafter return by road to Seronera or Sopa Lodge.

After your lunch, head straight to Arusha Airport, and fly to Kilimanjaro International Airport. You will be met at the airport and transferred to a hotel in Moshi for an overnight rest.

DAY 3 -10 – Mt. Kilimanjaro: After breakfast and briefing, a 45 minutes drive for to the Marangu Gate (the easiest route) on the eastern side of Kilimanjaro, register with the national park, and hiking begins.

Routes vary in degree of difficulty, traffic and scenic beauty. The least difficult routes are Marangu (the “Coca Cola” or “tourist” route) and Rongai; the more difficult routes are Machame, Shira and Limosho. The least difficult routes are longer (6 days, to and fro) but you’ll be more acclimatized and your chances of reaching the summit are therefore higher. These longer western routes also allow you to start your summit day at a more reasonable hour. The Marangu route is supported by comfortable solar-powered; sleeping huts at every camp, these camps for overnight stopover and rest at Mandara, Horombo and Kibo camps.

Kibo camp is the last camp before ascending to the highest point, the Uhuru Peak. After taking picture and enjoying the scene, you will then descend back to Kibo camp for lunch and trek back to Horombo for an overnight stay and rest. Early morning after breakfast, you will continue with your descent to Mandara camp and finally back at the Marangu Gate, where you will head to your hotel in Moshi town for an overnight rest.

DAY 11-15 – Water Sports in Zanzibar: On arrival at the Zanzibar airport, you will be driven straight to your hotel, meals and an overnight stay. There are numerous water sports activities in Zanzibar including Scuba diving, snorkelling, Dhow cruises, kayaking, windsurfing, waterskiing and under water photography, and swimming with the Dolphins at the Kizimkazi fishing village.

Several reputable water sports company offers short and advanced scuba diving in case you are new to the sport, as well as hiring of under water equipment including video and still cameras.
